T-Rex: Personification is when you give PERSON attributes to an inanimate object!
Narrator: LITERARY TECHNIQUE COMICS
Narrator: today's technique: PERSONIFICATION
T-Rex: For example, "That car over there slurps up gas" or "the beams of that house beneath me groaned as I stepped on them".
Dromiceiomimus: Personification! It's easy! Just write rich inner lives for everyone and you're set!
T-Rex: In fact - do that anyway!
Utahraptor: But not only people slurp or groan. Animals do it too!
T-Rex: True!
T-Rex: And honestly, "animalification" sounds WAY more interesting than personification. If you told me you animalified a house I'd say "wowie zowie". If you told me you personified a house I'd be like "are the beams gonna groan? Oh god, I bet the beams are gonna groan."
Narrator: MEANWHILE, IN TUDOR ENGLAND:
T-Rex: Shakespeare, use more animalification in your plays!
Off panel: well i GUESS hamlet could turn into a foxgirl when his dad dies
T-Rex: Shakespeare! What the hell?!
T-Rex: DO THAT RIGHT NOW
