March 12th, 2007: Hey guys, Free Comic Book Day is coming up on May 5th! This is the day when you can walk into any comic book store and they will have a selection of free comics for you to take and read and have forever and also push on your non-comics-reading friends. Last year one of the stand-out books (along with Andy Runton's Owly story which you can read here, and Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim story which you can read here) was Comics Festival, which had a bunch of comics by a bunch of different creators and this year I am in the Comics Festival book! You can see the line-up here - it looks like it's gonna be a great book filled with great comics and I am flattered to have snuck in. You should totally pick one up in May. THERE ARE BRAND NEW COMICS IN THERE. If you want to make sure your local store carries it, the order code is FEB070041.
Finally, holy cow, we've got 656 members on the Dino Comics distributed computing team, which makes us the 19th biggest team on the network, and we've done 3 years of worth of disease-curing computing since last week. That is pretty incredible. If you'd like to join AND let your computer do useful work for humanity in its spare time, you can do so here. Brian emailed me to say that this is basically like Progress Quest, only you get to help cure AIDS at the same time. SOUNDS GOOD TO ME.
