The haps: Early aviation is fascinating: in response to people building their own planes the Wrights were like "we have a patent on every plane, so if you fly a plane we get all the money", but also, there was no such thing as an "aviation authority" so people just made their own planes and flew em around and the Wrights got SO ANGRY ABOUT THAT.
