March 1st, 2011: I am quickly becoming the #1 fan of Telltale Games. They've done Strong Bad, Sam and Max, and Wallace and Gromit games, and I've been in love with their Back to the Future game since I bought it in February (it's episodic, and a new episode comes out every month). It's got really great writing, and though it's a new story, there's enough callbacks to the movies that playing it feels nostalgic and new at the same time - which works especially well for Back to the Future, since that series is all about the callbacks.
The problem with tie-in games is that they're generally rushed and pushed out to meet the movie's release date; the brilliance of what Telltale is doing is to release tie-in games long after the movie's been in theatres, so they can take their time and make something great. You can get the first episode of Back to the Future free from Telltale right now, consider this my recommendation cats and kittens!
ANYWAY the reason I mention this is that announced they're coming out with A Jurassic Park game and I am the excited one. Judging by the trailer it takes place at the same time as the first movie on another part of the island, AN ISLAND POPULATED WITH LIVING DINOSAURS, and if that doesn't excite you then all I can say is, man, I just don't understand what's going on. People always say "the holodeck is the last invention humanity will ever make"; I would argue that if we invent an island full of living dinosaurs first, we'll soon notice that every other invention necessarily pales in comparison. One year ago today: first person to decode it wins a t-shirt!! then i'll put the decoded version here. GO GO GO – Ryan
