T-Rex: Rather, they're islands that we thought existed, but then when we checked 'em out again they weren't there. Were they pulled beneath the waves by Poseidon's watery hand? Were they perhaps... STOLEN? DID SOMEONE HEIST AN ENTIRE ISLAND??
T-Rex: No, in the vast majority of cases they were never there to begin with.

T-Rex: Lots of reasons!
T-Rex: Well, no, one reason really: early on a ship reported seeing land there and we put it on maps, but in that time period we didn't know about optical illusions or how sailors lie sometimes. That's all!
