T-Rex: Phantom islands are not islands populated exclusively by ghosts!
T-Rex: UNFORTUNATELY.
T-Rex: Rather, they're islands that we thought existed, but then when we checked 'em out again they weren't there. Were they pulled beneath the waves by Poseidon's watery hand? Were they perhaps... STOLEN? DID SOMEONE HEIST AN ENTIRE ISLAND??
T-Rex: No, in the vast majority of cases they were never there to begin with.
Dromiceiomimus: Reality: boring sometimes!
Utahraptor: So why did we think they were there in the first place?
T-Rex: Lots of reasons!
T-Rex: Well, no, one reason really: early on a ship reported seeing land there and we put it on maps, but in that time period we didn't know about optical illusions or how sailors lie sometimes. That's all!
Utahraptor: Huh. I'm glad we had this talk.
T-Rex: Me too!
Narrator: THE END
Narrator: LISTEN, WHOEVER TOLD YOU "LEARNING IS FUN" FORGOT TO PREFACE IT WITH "ONLY SOMETIMES WILL YOU FIND THAT"
