T-Rex: Man, my weekend was as boring as watching paint dry!
Narrator: ONE INTERNET SEARCH LATER:
T-Rex: Wait, paint dries in 6 to 8 hours??
T-Rex: Huh! So anything that takes longer than 6 to 8 hours is actually MORE boring than watching paint dry, because at that point the paint is dry and the activity is clearly over, otherwise the idiom would be "watching paint already dried".
Utahraptor: What about "watching continents move" in its place? That's slower!
T-Rex: Naw, it's no good too!
T-Rex: They move TOO slowly, plus sometimes they move all at once, and earthquakes are the OPPOSITE of boring. If idioms are to accurately reflect the activity they're describing, they must scale linearly with that activity!!
Off panel: Well, I guess this problem is the 800-pound gorilla we'll have to deal with eventually.
T-Rex: 500 pound.
Off panel: 650.
T-Rex: *sigh*
