T-Rex: Our brains can't feel physical pain! They can be poked and prodded and whatnot and we won't feel any physical sensation. They're this incredible body part that has PAIN INVINCIBILITY.
T-Rex: And yet, they're ALSO the organ that feels 100% of all EMOTIONAL pain??
T-Rex: That's wacky, isn't it? A body part that's immune to ever feeling pain somehow CONJURES UP a whole new class of pain so that it can still hurt us. Ridiculous. Bodies are ridiculous, Dromiceiomimus.
Dromiceiomimus: I dunno, I like mine.
T-Rex: It's great, CLEARLY, but WHAT is going on with our wacky brains??
Utahraptor: That's what neuroscientists are trying to answer, isn't it?
T-Rex: Hopefully!
T-Rex: Hopefully it's that exact literal question. Hopefully they all got into science because the idea of an organ that was IMMUNE TO PAIN then EVOLVING A WHOLE NEW CLASS OF PAIN THAT IT COULD MANIFEST ON DEMAND was enough to make them say "whoah, this is some grade-a MALARKEY, I gotta look into this STAT".
Off panel: I mean, the brain also processes all PHYSICAL pain for the rest of the body, so technically it's responsible for making ALL pain hurt as bad as it does.
T-Rex: Utahraptor!!
T-Rex: WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS ORGAN??
