| wondering, even if one accepts the existence of God and the divinity of Jesus, how anyone could ever believe that the Catholic church is a legitimate representation of God's will on Earth | REGRET INDEX: 0a regret index of 1 is ultimate regret this result collects the hard-earned experience of 1 lifetimes of regret permalink to this result commentsThis is a question we might well ask about governments being the will of the nations they supposedly represent. I don't think there's a single answer, or a scale balancing the good and the harm to give an aggregate Holiness Score: but from what I have observed it is more that people look at the Church on a community level rather than on an international level. So you get people preying on them, because they're not looking at the big picture, but you also get tremendous loyalty, because the Church binds their community together. It helps them out when they need help. You really cannot put a price on having someone who understands grief be there for the grieving.: Of course if you did, it probably wouldn't be a price you paid in prepubescent boys.
