See, when I first heard the phrase "period diary" I assumed it was "period" in the same sense as "period drama" or whatever: but it turns out that women do actually keep journals of their menstrual cycles and post them online. So, once again, the real world beat us to the joke.
I've been told that keeping track of one's menstruations (though perhaps not in such detail and perhaps not online) is a good idea: as it allows you to identify patterns and realize it if you're consistently skipping four or five months at a time.
